Michael J. Thompson, M.D., is a Board Cer­ti­fied Fam­i­ly Prac­tice Phy­si­cian. He al­so has ad­di­tion­al train­ing in trop­i­cal di­seases, trav­e­ler’s health, cos­met­ic derm­a­tol­o­gy, and la­ser sur­ger­y. He maj­ored in chem­is­try at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Vir­gin­ia and then con­tin­ued his stud­ies at Re­gent Uni­ver­si­ty, where he re­ceived a Mas­ters De­gree in Chris­tian Min­is­try and Mis­sions. His med­i­cal de­gree is from West Vir­gin­ia Uni­ver­si­ty.

Dr. Thompson en­joys help­ing peo­ple look and feel young­er. One of the ways he helps ac­comp­lish this goal is with his em­ploy­ment of Botox^® in­ject­ions to de­crease wrin­kles, es­pe­cial­ly on the fore­head and a­round the eyes. He also uses der­mal fil­lers such as Restylane^® to fill lines and wrin­kles, pri­mar­i­ly a­round the mouth. Whole-person medicine is Dr. Thompson’s passion, ministering to a person completely in body, soul, and spirit. This single-minded pursuit is what has driven him to nearly 50 countries on various medical mission trips.

When home, Dr. Thompson enjoys water sports, bicycling, spending time with his wife, and wrestling with his three children. He even found time enough in his busy schedule to create a Time cover spoof using the same “official” photo above; he calls it his “Top Doc” picture. :)
